Eckhard, who grew up with pigeons, is a personification of the people from the Ruhr area: “miners, football fans and pigeon breeders”. The Ruhr area is the center of German pigeon racing.

In 2009 he started again with pigeon racing and had a decade of unprecedented success. Also his successes with the old pigeons are impressive: 1x 1st RV old pigeon champion, 1x 2nd regional yearly champion, 1st, 3rd, 8th best yearly pigeons in the regional club 2015, 50x 1st prize winners in this decade.
